4JJ1, 4HK1 and 6HK1 families — the engine behind a large share of the Korean and Chinese parc.

These are component lines rather than machine lines: assemblies and repair parts made by one specialist and fitted across many excavator brands. That is why a single number can fit several machines, and why matching is always done on the component's own plate rather than on the model badge of the machine it came off.

Where these parts fail

Component lines fail in characteristic ways, and knowing the pattern shortens the diagnosis. Turbochargers fail on oil starvation or on a blocked return before they fail on impeller damage. Injectors fail on fuel quality and water ingress long before they fail on nozzle wear. Pumps and motors fail on contamination, which usually starts somewhere else in the circuit. In each case the replacement is only half the repair — the other half is finding what contaminated the oil or starved the feed in the first place.

Genuine, OEM-quality or aftermarket

Every Isuzu line we quote is declared as genuine, OEM-quality or aftermarket before the order is placed. Where a part that fails destructively also takes others with it, we say so and usually recommend staying genuine; where it is a wear item on a predictable cycle, a quality replacement is often the better value, and we will tell you which category we think you are in.

What to send

The component's own number or a photograph of its plate, the machine model and serial it is fitted to, the quantity and the destination port. Where the same maker sells several generations of the same component, the number on the old unit is what settles the question — not the year of the machine.
